Bear Care, the Maple Bear infant programme, recognizes that the infant is a capable and active learner. The infant does not need to be “taught” lessons or content. The infant is respected as an already very competent learner, and is allowed, and encouraged, to explore, play, discover and practice in ways, and on a schedule, that best fits his or her emerging abilities, interests and skills. The Bear Care programme understands that strong attachment between the infant and care-giving adults is critical to healthy growth, development and learning. Infant programs are organized to ensure that environments, experiences, activities and routines have relationship building as the starting point. The care-giving teacher is the most important part of the learning environment for the infant.
Where young learners can build their confidence and skills, problem solve and gain an increasing understanding of the world around them. As children move out of toddlerhood and into the independence of the pre-school years, the programme for learning develops into a more structured pace of meaningful and purposeful learning where children are encouraged to approach the world with curiosity and with a positive disposition to learn. At this stage, children need confidence and the skills and desire to think for themselves, to solve problems, to work with others, to communicate, and to gain an increasing understanding of the world and how it works.
An exciting world where children can develop their independence, discover new objects and explore their powers to communicate. A child’s third year is a time of huge change as they are moving from the total dependence of babyhood to the more independent, mobile world of preschoolers. At this age children are exploring their powers to communicate, to move purposely, to assert their independence and individuality, and to control their important bodily functions. We provide the child with an environment that will jump-start the developmental process. Our Staff understands the frequent changes in moods, interests, and capabilities and provides calm, consistent care and supportive teaching. This program helps the child develop his latent creative, language and maths skills.
The main aim of early years education is not explicitly “education” in the formal sense but also the promotion of the health and wellbeing of every child. Preschool doesn’t mean we focus on preparing children for school academically, alone. The main goal is to make sure that the children are happy and responsible individuals. The “joy of learning”through play, language enrichment and communication are the base of our pedagogy. To ensure this, we have incorporated Jolly Phonics, Howard Gardner's theory on multiple intelligences and Friedrich Froebel’s play methods to achieve the highest potential of the child in any environment and space through activities based on all aspects of intelligence and personality.
