The Montessori Method of education, developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, is a child-centered educational approach based on scientific observations of children from birth to adulthood. Dr. Montessori’s Method has been time tested, with over 100 years of success in diverse cultures throughout the world. Our youngest learners at MMI have the opportunity to learn and grow together in a child centered developmentally appropriate environment. The facilitator serves as a link between the children and the environment, encouraging respect, curiosity, creativity and responsibility. Montessori teacher’s primary role is not only to transmit information from a prepared curriculum, but also to create an environment of calm, order and joy in the classroom to develop self-confidence and inner discipline. The specially designed resources foster independence and love for learning at an early age. A Montessorian learns best by doing and are self-motivated learners forming a positive image of them. MMI is a home away from home where we foster the never-ending desire for learning through joyful and exciting experiences and activities .With a combination of a conducive environment and Montessori approach children are well prepared to move to formal schools.
